FOR HOPE, INC
Torn, Tired and Twisted, we have HOPE for all of them!
I have been fostering dogs for what seems like forever. It also feels so natural and right. I love what I am able to do for these dogs, but more than that, I am amazed at what they do for me.

Every single foster came with a job to do. They came to teach; they came with lessons. This is part of their journey, just as is all the pain, cruelty and illness. It took me a long time to accept that truth. Without their pain and enduring strength, we might never see the cruelty. We might never fight this constant battle for change.

A dog named Lucy came to me in search of her Forever home. In finding it, she brought me a good friend. Through emails about Lucy, her new mom and I soon discovered our likenesses, beginning with something as simple as learning we both sang to Lucy, to the deeply personal and unexpected devastating loss of a close family member.

My new friend, Lucy’s Forever mom, inspired me in so many ways - her strength, forgiveness and ability to help people was amazing. She is the motivation for this blog and so it is dedicated to Lori and Lucy.

I have never saved a dog; they saved me. They rescued and taught me, and made me a better person.

One of the most important dogs in my life was Mr. Hope. He was the inspiration for the rescue now called For Hope, Inc. These are the stories of the dogs that came and went from us. They may bring tears, laughter and anger. More importantly, I hope they inspire. Our dogs cannot speak or write, but their stories need to be told. Only through sharing their suffering will change happen. I will be their voice and will begin with the story of Mr. Hope.
