FOR HOPE'S ADOPTION PROCESS
All of the dogs that come to For Hope, Inc have been hurt, have had an illness or are being treated for an illness. These dogs are all in foster homes and part of a family, sometimes for the very first time. The foster home helps the dogs to heal their body, mind, heart and soul. Please understand that this is a second job for the foster homes. All foster parents work other jobs and do this out of love for dogs.
For Hope’s process for meeting any of our dogs is as follows:
1. Fill out an application. There is no commitment on your part. (E-mail addresses help speed up the process.)
2. Submit app via mail or internet.
3. After app is processed and references are checked we will set up a time for you to meet the dog and do a home visit.
It may seem like a long process but For Hope needs to make sure this is the right home for the dog and the right dog for you. All our dogs have been through a great deal. Some more than others. We wish to make the adoption process as stress free on everyone and find this process does help. The sad truth is that 20 percent of the dogs currently in shelters were dumped there by owners who had gotten the dog from a shelter in the first place. Our HOPE is to prevent them any further pain by ensuring that they find their true forever home.
Please remember our dogs have the last paws up in all this. They are the ones who ultimately make the decision.
